Gisselfeld Kloster is seeking a new forest manager, as our current one has taken on new responsibilities.
Gisselfeld Kloster is a commercial foundation that currently manages and owns approximately 4100 hectares of land in South Zealand. Of this, 2365 hectares consist of forest, which has been PEFC-certified since 2003.
The position involves:
- Management and responsibility for Gisselfeld Forest District, as well as care of external woodland of approximately 700 hectares
- Daily management of the permanent staff (2 machine operators, 2-3 forest workers) as well as a varying number of temporary workers and contractors
- Sale of forest products and procurement related to the operation of the forest district
- Felling and planting plans, as well as general forestry and forest maintenance
The forest manager will become part of a management team consisting of operations managers from the estate's other branches of operations.
The forest district is managed with traditional forestry. There is also a significant production of Christmas trees and decorative greenery. The district has a wide range of machinery, which is based centrally at the breeding farm.
The forest ranger refers to the estate's estate manager/managing director.
We are looking for someone who:
- Qualified in forestry and landscape engineering or similar.
- Passionate about production forestry
- Commercially minded and with good business acumen.
- Results-orientated and able to work in a structured and systematic manner
- Has understanding and ability for cooperation with various authorities
- Has a good sense of order and an understanding of the estate's overall profile
- Has good collaboration skills both internally and externally and an understanding of how to prioritise the company's overall objectives.
