A varied manor landscape
The varied manor landscape, with a mixture of forest, farmland, meadows, wetlands, and lakes, offers unique opportunities to create ideal conditions for nature conservation, hunting, and fishing. As the first Danish estate ever, Gisselfeld Kloster has received the ELO's Wildlife Estate Label, which is exclusively awarded to those who demonstrate particular consideration for flora and fauna in their daily operations.
Gisselfeld Kloster demonstrates care and responsibility for its biotopes, which is reflected in the estate's game and fish management.

Species in the fauna offer a bit of everything – even the protected ones
The list of species in Gisselfeld's fauna is long, and the estate is working purposefully to optimise the natural areas, so that optimal conditions for the fauna can be maintained.
At Gisselfeld's nature areas, you can, among other things, experience fallow deer, red deer, roe deer, hares, foxes, pheasants and grey partridges, as well as many species of geese and ducks.
Additionally, nature and bird lovers can enjoy a variety of rare species of both mammals and birds.
