Four of us rent the fishing rights to one of Gisselfeld's many lakes, and here we get the opportunity to go back to basics for one or more days when we set up camp by the shore and cast our lines into the water. It's pure relaxation and fabulous idyll. We've been fishing here for 8 years and consider it Northern Europe's most beautiful area for angling.

Gisselfeld Kloster is blessed with a natural environment that makes it exceptionally attractive for fishing and for simply enjoying the moment. The many lakes and streams offer optimal fishing opportunities in wonderfully beautiful surroundings. Carp fishing was introduced to Gisselfeld as early as the 16th century, and a large number of the lakes were therefore artificially created. Over the last 15 years, all 23 carp ponds have been restocked with carp, and the lakes and streams are rich in fish species such as pike, zander, perch, tench, and brown trout...
On the majority of the areas, hunting, access, and fishing rights are leased, and in connection with this, houses and cabins have been renovated for use by the many guests who enjoy the countryside. Gisselfeld Kloster regularly has fishing waters available for rent, so you can gain access to the truly unique fishing opportunities on site.
