Christmas spirit and experiences
Get in the right Christmas mood at Gisselfeld. Gisselfeld's grand and proud November tradition is the annual Christmas Market, where the scent of Christmas and the many inspiring stalls help to create the perfect setting.
The Christmas Market, as always, takes place on the last two full weekends of November and offers plenty of authentic Christmas spirit, hanging gnomes, pony rides, food trucks, and much more. There will also be an opportunity to take a Gisselfeld Christmas tree and greenery home from the market.
Experiences for children
There is also plenty for the children to experience.
Father Christmas will be meeting children and the young at heart in “Father Christmas's Grotto” beneath the Castle. In the Workshop, children up to 12 years old can create their own Christmas decorations for free. Father Christmas's elf children will be handing out free bags of sweets to children of all ages. The local 4-H club will once again be organising pony rides on Saturdays and Sundays.
Note
There is no pony riding on the two Fridays.
Payment methods
Cash can be withdrawn free of charge at both entrances and at the small information booth next to Peder Oxe-Hallen. Many of the stalls also accept MobilePay and/or Dankort, but the signal can be intermittent.
Information about dogs
Dogs are welcome and may be brought along as long as they are kept on a lead and dog waste bags are used. Permission applies only outdoors and not inside any buildings.
Information about wheelchair users
Please be aware that there may be challenges for electric wheelchairs entering the buildings. Gisselfeld is not equipped with a ramp for this purpose. Standard wheelchairs that can be tilted will be able to enter. Companion cards are accepted at the entrance.
For exhibitors
Exhibitors can now register for the Christmas Market 2026. Registration is open.
We look forward to seeing you at the Christmas Market at Gisselfeld and welcome you to a Christmas Market and a Castle Park of the highest class.
