Unlike many other Danish castles and manors, Gisselfeld Kloster is not privately owned. Gisselfeld Kloster is a commercial foundation.
The fund's purpose
to own, possess, operate and preserve the properties belonging to Gisselfeld Kloster, including the main building with its surrounding park and the collections housed within the main building, such as porcelain, faience, paintings and other furnishings.
To provide financial support to socially disadvantaged persons residing in Haslev municipality.
To provide financial support for bridal equipment for girls residing in Faxe municipality.
To provide financial support to unmarried daughters of Danish noble families or daughters of noble persons in the three highest ranks.
To provide financial support for charitable and public benefit purposes. Including cultural, scientific, social and educational purposes.
